My mother actually agree to buy me a dizi for Christmas when we visit the instrument shop last week. We were there to buy strings for Guzheng as first 12 strings of my guzheng are rusted and they don't sound nice when they are played. After I asked the person for the 12 strings, my mum was engrossed in looking at the erhus. Then I asked her if she is interested in learning the instrument she said that she has no talent in music. Aiya, just type out our conversation.

M: You know people who play erhu nowadays can play the instrument so beautifully while standing. Which is amazing...
R: You can learn it what, since you like the instrument.
M: I can't do music. Actually...... I think you can learn...
R: (HUH) I don't like erhu...(Yulin don't be angry~)
M: But it is very nice leh...
R: (Suddenly I saw a whole shelf of dizi)(Quickly ask the promoter) Miss, how much is one dizi?
M: You want to learn ah...
The promoter: Price varies. Depends on the different type and 调. We have $40, the cheapest, to $150.
R: (YES! I can save up to buy one!) Mother, I think we go father's office first lar.
M: Ok lor.

R: Actually hor, dizi is very nice also leh.
M: You want one?
R: I'm saving up to buy one.
M: Christmas is round the corner, buy you one as Christmans gift.
R: Really?! Yay!
Last Sat or Sun I forgot, my family was watching 我猜我猜我猜猜猜. At the 真的假不了section. One girl blowed dizi and that made my mum changed her mind totally. She saw the girl's mouth and she said whoever blows dizi will turn that way. I was so sad and told her that not everybody is like that. And I told her Zhi An and Wei Liang didn't turn that way too. But she insisted on her own idea. Somemore from the beginning my dad doesn't support me on buying dizi. He said that boys can learn dizi but not girls. Sigh... A BIG sigh... 我和笛子注定没缘分...
