Guzheng...

Hellos everybody! Aww man today I can't post anything because I did nothing in the morning besides sleeping. Woke up at 11.47am but still felt sleepy. Spent half an hour sitting by the dinning table listening to music and dreaming. After that, ate breakfast at around 12.30pm. Spent about 30 minutes eating breakfast because I was reading Dreams of the Red Chamber at the same time.


After that I practised my guzheng. Currently learning a new song, 彝族舞曲. The 彝 has the same pronounciation as 仪. It is a very nice song. It was originally a pipa piece. But since Guzheng has similar sound to pipa, many people tried to convert it to a Guzheng piece.

There are 2 different versions of the song. One written by one famous Guzheng-ist, 潘妙兴. The other by another famous Guzheng-ist, 王中山. 王中山's version has some similar 指法 to pipa so it's more original. But some parts of the song requires some skills I have not learnt, so I must spend some time to master it before playing the notes. Finding notes is easy, but learning new skills takes time. : (

One of them is the 四指轮. Meaning to play one string by moving your fingers except the small finger very quickly, producing a sound that is similar to pipa's 五指轮. Pipa is different as it is played by moving your fingers outwards while guzheng is moving your fingers inwards. That is the main thing I cannot adapt.

Somemore there are many strings on Guzheng which creates a difficulty to move your fingers so quickly. Another skill that is very difficult is the 三指摇. I've learnt to 摇 with one finger, that is my thumb ONLY. This time, I have to 摇 with 3 fingers, on 3 different strings, it is really difficult. Moreover, you need enough strength from your wrist to move your index finger.

Another problem, most parts of the song is played in a super fast mode. Which requires me to practise for a long time before connecting all parts of the song together. Some of the parts need me to create a quiet atmosphere, so somehow I need to 培养感情 when playing them.

Aww... I still miss Guzheng. When there's combined practices at CO, my eyes will automatically turn to the place where Guzhengs are. Looking at them makes me think of my past. Although I'm learning pipa now, I will never forget Guzheng. It has accompanied me through most of my sad times. Everytime I quarrel with my mum or feels upset about something, I would sit by it and play. At first, I would usually play sad songs but slowly my mood will change... Yup.

I had once said, Guzheng is my life. Yes, it will always be my life. : )

Reopened AGAIN!~

Finally... I changed the skin again. -.- I didn't wait till Sunday! Hahas. So what are your comments on the skin? ^ ^ Nicer than the previous one or uglier? I used the code from one blogskin and combined it with my nice pic above. Look, that one. : ) Okay I got to go now. Wasted a lot of time doing all these things. So yup, nights! ^^

Enjoyed my birthday dinner. Thanks to my family and my cousin who came and joined me for the night. : D Will post the photos here some other days. Didn't take a lot of photos because my mum was a bit pissed off with me holding the phone and running around with oily hands. So yup. Will post soon!~ : )
